RacingforHeroes is a charity initiative (as a Help for Heroes official charity partner) to provide our Heroes with opportunities within Motorsport, as well as fundraising for the charity. I have been selected as a RacingforHeroes Academy Driver and will form the future driver line-up of the team (who currently run Josh Cook in the British Touring Car Championship - BTCC). This is a huge opportunity for me to fulfill my dream of racing in the BTCC and potentially form a career as a racing driver. I will be hosting ex-servicemen/women at my race weekends.
In order to achieve this, I need to get out there racing in 2015 in the Michelin Clio Cup Series - the perfect feeder series to the Touring Car package. I have raced in just two car race weekends in the Clio and already proven my pace and future potential - winning the rookie class in every race entered (5 out of 5). Every race weekend provides invaluable experience and development as a racing driver - however each weekend costs around £6500 in order to enter; this covers entry fees, team fees, tyres, fuel, insurance and so on.
For the rest of the 2015 season, I aim to compete in as many rounds as I can so any donation really does go a long way. I cannot emphasise this opportunity enough; if I race this year and prove myself, RacingforHeroes can springboard my racing career to the very top.
I am hard at work seeking corporate partners, but I am keen to do something with friends/fans and providing this unique opportunity to have a photo on my roof and a passenger ride with me is one not to be missed! £1500 would pay for 2 race weekend's worth of tyres!
