Hello hello... I’m Rachel Hair, a Highland harpist based near Glasgow who’s been touring, recording and tutoring Scottish music for many years and I've a new project on the go...
// WHAT’S THIS ABOUT?
I’ve self-released 7 albums, but (shockingly!) I haven’t recorded a solo harp album since my debut almost 20 years ago!
For years, people at concerts and festivals have been asking when I’ll make another one… and now I’m finally ready to do just that.
// AN ALBUM?
This will be a truly “me” album.
Over the last two decades I’ve grown so much as a musician, but one thing has never changed: my love for Scottish music. This album will celebrate that… with tunes from Scotland, a few from the Isle of Man (I’m there once a month and am honorary Manx thanks to my husband!) and some of my own compositions as I simply love writing for harp.
It will be purely solo harp, a rarity these days, but the sound of my Starfish Designs harp is so stunning and I’m excited for listeners to hear it in its simplest, most expressive form.
