Race The Machine is a race series with an interesting twist, it is all about attempting to beat achievable personal running time targets.
Race The Machine is a race series with an interesting twist, it is all about attempting to beat achievable personal running time targets across a series of races.
There are 6 distances to run in the Race The Machine 2022 challenge: 1500 Metres, 3 Kilometres, 5 Miles, 10 Kilometres, 10 Miles, Half Marathon.
A shorter 4 race challenge is also offered.
When you enter Race The Machine you will be asked how fast you can run 5 kilometres now. The Machine will then calculate an achievable time to beat at the distance you choose to run first.
From your second race onwards your time targets will be calculated from your previous result. The Machine adjusts with you and is a great training partner.
All entrants receive a red recycled buff on entry. Those who complete all 6 races also receive a rarer black 'Machine Accomplished' recycled buff.
Race The Machine works equally well for beginners as it does very experienced runners. All are welcome and everyone can Race The Machine and succeed.
Every runner and beginner benefits from realistic targets. Beating time targets and expectations provides an unrivalled sense of satisfaction.

Race The Machine is lengthening the typical virtual race experience and making it more personal and flexible to runners ability levels.
Race The Machine is also making sustainable choices, providing recycled buffs as mementos rather than medals.
Race The Machine had a successful trial in 2021 and already has 50 entrants signed up in 2022. Despite that success, spreading the word about a new concept remains tricky on a non existent/tiny marketing budget. Your donation will help Race The Machine shout a little louder.
It is also important that Race The Machine invests in larger orders of recycled buffs and t-shirts to avoid delays in deliveries to our customers, and to secure more sustainable prices.
