Every year, runners face serious medical emergencies during races - many of which are preventable with the right knowledge. That’s why we created Race Ready, a free app offering expert medical advice to help runners at any level train and race safely, so they can enjoy their sport with confidence.
Now, we need your help to keep it running.
Why Race Ready Matters
Race Ready was inspired by Matthew Good, who tragically passed away during a half-marathon in 2011 despite being young and fit. Since then, his family and colleagues at the Matthew Good Foundation have worked to improve race safety, funding critical research and helping establish the International Institute for Race Medicine. Race Ready is the next step in their mission.
With the right knowledge, tragedies can be prevented. Your donation helps keep this life-saving tool available to runners everywhere.
Expert Medical Advice, Made Accessible
Developed with World Athletics and top medical experts from the London and Brighton Marathons, Race Ready provides independent, evidence-based guidance to help runners stay safe. The app helps users:
💚 Understand and prevent risks like heatstroke and hyponatremia
💚 Get expert advice on hydration, nutrition, and race-day preparation
💚 Stay informed with weather updates and race checklists
💚 Learn through gamified content that makes safety information engaging and easy to absorb
We Need Your Help to Keep Race Ready Running
We’ve worked hard to develop and launch the app, with the Matthew Good Foundation covering all start-up costs, but we need ongoing support to cover essential running costs for one year. Your donation will help us to:
💚 Keep the app free for all runners
💚 Maintain and update content with the latest medical advice
💚 Reach more runners to expand awareness and save lives
Be Part of Something That Saves Lives
By donating, you’re helping to protect runners, prevent medical emergencies, and save lives - ensuring other families do not have to experience the loss that Matthew’s did.
