The Details:

The Quilt :

The making of this quilt started after a call out from Quilt For Palestine. I made a small sampler for them. And then i carried on, making more and more, until this quilt was finished.

Using the colours of the Palestine flag and scraps of fabric to guide me in making this improvised quilt

Its aprox: 150 x 165 cm.

All fabric is cotton, with a cotton wadding filling, machine sewn.

It will be shipped unwashed so some shrinkage may occur on first wash.

How It Works :

Each £5 equals one entry into the prize draw.

eg. if you donate £5 = 1, £10 = 2, £15 = 3 and so on.

The proceeds raised from the prize draw (after any platform fees) will be split between the Medical Aid For Palestine & Humanitarian Response.

The draw will be open from Tuesday 11th June to  midday Sunday 23rd June 2024.

I will pull the winners name out of a hat (or digital equivalent -  no later than 28th of June). I will notify the recipient myself via email.

Please make sure to provide an email address to contact you.

The prize draw is open worldwide, i will cover the shipping costs.

The charities:

 - Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees.

They provide immediate medical aid to those in great need, they have been operating since 1982.

-  Palestine Humanitarian Response, In an attempt to ease the ongoing trauma amongst Gaza's children, we created the Palestine Humanitarian Response Campaign.

The funds enabled the purchase of medical supplies and winter clothes, as well as the creation of a children’s village which supports more than 250 displaced children with playful activities.

Why a quilt?

In the unending terror of the world, we must act and do something, even in small actions we can help. Staying silent and not acting is not something i can do.

Everyone in the world needs comfort, safety and food as basic human rights.

A quilt represents many things, it is a story, it can be comfort, it can be love and it can be warmth. This quilt also acts as a reminder to the future, i hope its a small act of resilience.

I would love it if this quilt could bring love, care, safety and warmth to many.
