Start up costs for Go Goosey, a quick drying onesie for kids aged 3-12 years old that can be worn straight after swimming that dries them

Hi my name is Karen and I am the Founder of Go Goosey. 

5 years ago, when my daughter was a toddler, I looked forward to taking her swimming. Whilst the actual swimming part was good fun, little did I know that the whole drying and dressing experience would be a nightmare. Getting her dry and dressed as quickly as possible was not only stressful for us both, but meant I was left cold and wet too and she was miserable. After talking with many other parents, I found I was not alone. I thought that surely, there must be an easier way.

Fast forward 5 years of researching and lots of material samples, I finally have the answer.

It is a onesie that can be put on straight after swimming that dries on them, no soggy towels, no battles with clothes and more importantly no tantrums. The material is water repellent, so only gets slightly damp on the inside but dries within 10 minutes, so by the time they have had their snack and you have got dressed, then it is completely dry. Even if you have to dress and go immediately after swimming lessons, then your little ones will still be warm.

This can be used before and after swimming, from the beach/on the beach in between splashes in the sea or even out of the bath.

I am also planning on selling a great swim/beach bag with a wet and dry compartment as well as quick drying towels for the beach to allow the whole drying experience to be as stress free and quick as possible.

WHAT STAGE AM I AT AND WHY I NEED YOUR HELP?

I have had the quick drying onesie designed and have found a manufacturer. I have got the Tech Pack and am waiting for a sample to be made. Once that is approved, we are then ready for production. We are hoping to retail the onesies at around £28-£30. 

The funding will be used - to get the Go Goosey Onesie manufactured and the swim bag and quick drying towels made too, ready to be sold.

I am so passionate about this product and have been using the prototype for the past year, so know it works.  Being a parent is hard work so any product that makes the whole drying experience easier for us then we deserve it and the kids are happy too. 

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

With the manufactured product we can then go live and start selling and I can send all you lovely supporters your rewards to redeem your discounts and get hold of some of the first onesies for your children. I have already had a lot of interest from Swim schools, parents and swimming clubs so I expect it to be busy and as Swimming lessons are wrap and go during this pandemic, the Quick drying onesies would be ideal to keep your little ones warm and home as soon as possible.
