A limited edition print by Kudzanai-Violet Hwami to support Queercircle's holistic programme of LGBTQ+ arts, culture & creative health.
THE PRIZE
We are delighted to have launched our limited edition series with Kudzanai-Violet Hwami, in collaboration with Avant Arte. One lucky person has the chance to win an artist proof of Kudzi (valued at over £3,500).
Kudzi started as a digital collage of the artist’s cousin. Printed, painted on and then faithfully recreated in 17 silkscreen layers. Glossy swathes of colour obscure a halftone-modulated, monochromatic underprint. These innovative techniques – born of close collaboration with artisan printmakers in London – echo the rich, multimedia surfaces of Hwami’s original paintings.
ABOUT US
QUEERCIRCLE is an LGBTQ+ led charity working at the intersection of arts, culture and social action. Our community focused programme of exhibition commissions and learning and participation activities provide holistic support for local and LGBTQ+ people.
Having opened our new home in June 2022, QUEERCIRCLE seeks to develop an ecology of artists, curators, writers, thinkers, community organisers, grassroots organisations and charities who collectively work together to reimagine the role cultural spaces play in society.
By entering this lottery you are helping us to keep all of our events and activities FREE for the community, and supporting us to create long term systemic change for LGBTQ+ people.
