A healthy veteran oak is threatened by National Highways to be felled for a slip road to a prep school as part of a road widening scheme on the 303.
We object in the strongest terms to the removal of this tree, and request that plans might be adjusted to allow for its retention, ie; diversion of the slip road to allow a root protection zone for the tree.
We are occupying to highlight that the Gov is spending 6.1 billion on road projects which will increase carbon emissions whilst a 78% cut in emissions by 2035 is written into law. We to occupying the oak for the tree's protection until National Highways and Gallifordtry construction change the plans.
By drawing media attention to the campaign to save this Ancient Oak, we can help persuade the developers to change their plans.
Your funds will go towards the camp equipment and raising a legal injunction to keep the Queen Oak safe long enough for national highways to re-rount their slip road plans.
