Aim

Raising £20,000+ to fund high-acuity observation monitors, keeping children local and safe during complex infusional chemotherapy

The Chartwell Children’s Cancer Trust is a local cancer charity committed to providing support for NHS services across London and the South-East.

We have been providing cancer care support to young patients in our local communities since 2015.

Tiger Ward’s Paediatric Oncology Shared Care Unit, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich is expanding its services to provide infusional chemotherapy – which involves the prolonged administration of anti-cancer drugs and requires continuous, high-level monitoring, where early detection of complications can be lifesaving.  The Unit currently treats around 40 children and is creating a new dedicated Infusional Chemotherapy Suite to allow more families to receive this complex treatment locally.

UPDATE: 4 MONITORS NEEDED: 2 FUNDED, 2 TO GO

To safely deliver this treatment, Tiger Ward needs specialist high-acuity observation monitors to:

  • Safely introduce infusional chemotherapy within the local paediatric oncology unit
  • Continuously track vital signs
  • Detect changes early so clinicians can respond immediately
  • Provide faster intervention when it matters most

Providing this high-quality, specialist care locally will:

  • Improve patient safety through enhanced monitoring
  • Ensure children receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time
  • Reduce the need for families to travel long distances for treatment,
  • Keep children closer to home, school, family and support networks
  • Ease the emotional, financial and practical strain on families

Our target: Thanks to generosity of a grant funder, two monitors are now needed £10,000 REQUIRED TO ACHIEVE THIS TARGET

The Chartwell Children’s Cancer Trust has already funded the first specialist observation monitor. We are now fundraising to provide three more additional monitors to fully equip the new chemotherapy suite.  Each monitor costs £6,800

Every Pound Makes a Difference
