Cycling Without Age Wallingford

Aim
Cycling Without Age Wallingford is part of a charity run by volunteers who offer fun rides on our trikes to elderly and vulnerable people
We want everyone to be able to experience ‘the wind in their hair’ and sun on their skin, no matter their mobility or circumstances. Our trained volunteer pilots take people out for rides around Wallingford on our electric trikes, with a friendly chat and a chance to feed the ducks, feel the wind on their skin, and be part of the community.
The rides help with loneliness and social isolation, and offer people who may not have left their homes or care homes for a while - a chance to get out and about.
We've been able to acquire 2 trikes thanks to a generous benefactor, Charlie Vaughan-Lee of Hanning Homes and we're looking for money to:
- purchase warm and waterproof blankets and clothing to keep our passengers snug and dry
- extend the fleet to get a wheelchair specific bike
- maintain our fleet
- publicise the rides and recruit for volunteers to help offer more rides
