Aim

CGH supplies food to around 260 local families to improve lives we are building our Help Hub to signpost and support families in need

The Community Grub Hub is a community store and hub which feeds around 260 people a week. 70% of this food would otherwise go to landfill over the year this means that around 60 tonnes of food is rescued from landfill.

We are now looking to build our Help Hub which helps to signpost individuals and families to additional support and help particularly around finance and mental health. In this way we can help move individuals and families forward. Using our unique position as a foodbank we have direct contact with some of the most vulnerable in society. We can support and signpost them with issues around finance, debt, budgeting, employment, mental health and addiction. In addition we are looking to extend our partnership with CAB to help with complex issues around finances, debt and employment.

To do this we need £4,880 to build and support our Help Hub. This money will enable us to open on an additional day with Help Hub Hosts and CAB on the premises to listen and support our clients. We can develop clubs, give employment advice and safe spaces where are clients can be helped and supported with financial and budgeting advice as well as mental health support.

By improving the financial and mental health of our visitors we can reduce their dependancy on the foodbank and help them look towards a brighter future.
