After my laptop was recently stolen and the police refused to help, I am looking to make the money back whilst producing content.
On the 14th July at around 6pm, I invited a man, going by “Josh Cooper” into my home, where he checked over an MSI laptop I was selling for £800. The laptop was barely used and had left the house only twice, but I needed the money, and he came over. I input my details into a banking app on his phone, and watched him transfer the money, and I thought for sure it was all legit, so I gave him the laptop and waved him goodbye. When the money didn’t show up, I contacted my bank, then him, asking if he could chase it. A day later, he had blocked me and left the chat. I have informed Facebook, the Police and Report Fraud UK, and the Police and Report Fraud have responded saying they will not investigate, or do anything further to help me.
I was an idiot. I believed as I always had, that people are mostly good, and just do am in debt, and I am unwell with a chronic condition, with only Statutory Sick Pay to cover those debts.
This incident has shaken me to my core, and I can’t let it lie.
Lastly, my friend Codi suggested I try reaching out to others.
