Aim

To bring a powerful book to life that helps women move from survival to sovereignty through truth, healing, and lived experience.

Aim

To publish It Took Me 52 Years to Get Here: From Survival to Sovereignty and use it as the foundation of The Healing Access Project - an initiative created to make healing resources, tools and supportive spaces accessible to women who may not ordinarily be able to afford or access them.

From a Book to The Healing Access Project

This crowdfunder began with one clear intention: to raise the funds needed to create, publish and launch my book, It Took Me 52 Years to Get Here: From Survival to Sovereignty.

But as I began sharing the book and the story behind it, something much bigger started to emerge.

I became increasingly aware that many of the women who may most need this book - and the healing tools, reflections and conversations surrounding it - may be the least likely to have access to them.

That realisation led to the creation of The Healing Access Project.

The project will work with women’s charities, community organisations and other services supporting women to provide copies of the book, accompanying healing resources and, where possible, workshops and facilitated spaces based around its themes.

The book remains at the heart of this crowdfunder. Publishing it is the first step. The vision has now grown beyond simply placing a book on sale and hoping it reaches the right women.

I want to place it directly into the hands of women who may recognise themselves within its pages but may not ordinarily have access to books, coaching, facilitated healing spaces or other forms of personal development.

Your contribution will help me to:

  • Complete the professional production and self-publication of the book
  • Print copies for sale and distribution
  • Donate books and accompanying resources through selected women’s charities and community organisations
  • Develop workshops and supportive spaces rooted in the book’s themes
  • Build The Healing Access Project into a sustainable initiative that can reach more women over time

This work began with my story, but it was never meant to end with me.

The Story Behind the Book

This book has not been written in isolation.

In many ways, it has been writing itself through me over the course of 52 years, shaped by lived experiences, choices, challenges and the lessons that came with them. When it came time to finally put pen to paper, I realised this was not simply my story to tell without considering the lives connected to mine.

As a mother, my journey has also impacted my children.

Before I could fully commit to writing this book, I had to have honest and, at times, difficult conversations with them. There were parts of my life, and therefore parts of their lives, that needed to be acknowledged, innerstood and processed together. Choices I had made had consequences, not only for me, but for them as well.

It took time. It took openness. It took accountability.

Over the course of a couple of years, we worked through those conversations with care, honesty and a shared desire for innerstanding. It was important to me that they felt seen, heard and respected before I moved forward with sharing my story more publicly.

Only once that process had taken place did I feel ready to write this book in full.

I am bringing this work into the world as more than a personal story. It is becoming a resource for women navigating their own healing journeys - women who may be carrying untold stories, unprocessed experiences or unanswered questions about their lives.

Through the book and The Healing Access Project, I want women to encounter something that helps them feel seen, invites them to reflect and reminds them that what happened to them does not have to determine who they become.

About Me

1773947311_sweet_mother_uk_-_purple_vest.jpeg

My name is Regina Grace Atsu.

I am a Black Woman, born and raised in London, with deep pride in my Nigerian heritage. I am also a mother of two adult children, and much of who I am today has been shaped not only by my own lived experiences, but by the responsibility and growth that comes with motherhood.

I am the founder of The Goddess Within – Limitless CIC, a community-led organisation dedicated to supporting women in their healing, growth, and personal development.

My work is rooted in lived experience, professional training, and a deep commitment to creating spaces where women can explore who they are beyond survival. Through women’s circles, workshops, retreats, events, and coaching, I support women in developing greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a stronger sense of personal sovereignty.

I am also the host of the Limitless Wombman Podcast, where I explore themes around relationships, communication, and the dynamics between women and men. Through open and honest conversations, the podcast creates space for deeper understanding, bridging gaps that often exist in how we relate to one another.

I hold an MSc in Social Work and have spent years working with individuals navigating complex life experiences. Alongside this, I have continued to develop my own understanding of human behaviour, relationships, and healing through both formal study and personal exploration.

Everything I offer... whether through my work or through this book... is grounded in honesty, reflection, and a belief that change is possible when we are willing to engage with ourselves at a deeper level.

This book is not separate from my work. It is an extension of it.
