We’re making waves off the water — help us stay oar-some with ergs that keep our crews fit, fierce, and ready to row, rain or shine!
Devoran Pilot Gig Club is a friendly, inclusive rowing club based in south Cornwall. Founded in 1989, we’re proud to be part of the Cornish gig rowing tradition. With members of all ages and abilities, we train, race, and adventure together — building fitness, friendships, and community spirit.
We’re crowdfunding to buy indoor rowing machines (ergs) so our members — of all ages and abilities — can train together year-round, even when we can’t get on the water. These ergs will help us stay fit, connected, and ready to row, whatever the tide or weather.
We’re raising funds to buy six indoor rowing machines (ergs) for our gig shed in Devoran. With six ergs — matching the number of rowers in a crew — we can train together to build fitness and synchronicity. Sessions will be led by our experienced volunteer coaches and open to all ages and abilities. We’ll provide inductions, promote access, and gather feedback to keep improving and ensure everyone feels welcome.
Devoran Pilot Gig Club brings people together through rowing — from complete beginners to seasoned racers, across all ages and abilities. By funding indoor rowing machines (ergs), we’ll offer year-round training, boost fitness, and strengthen community bonds. Your support helps us stay active, connected, and inclusive — on and off the water.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
