Help them get started
Your support makes a difference
Help fund our first Brazilian coffee import to the UK. Pre-order speciality coffee and discover the people and stories behind every cup.
Exceptional coffee. Personally selected. A fairer future for its growers.
Storytale Coffee begins with the growers of Andradas, in Brazil’s Região Vulcânica—the volcanic coffee-growing region around Poços de Caldas, in southern Minas Gerais. We’re building a premium coffee brand around exceptional high-altitude coffee, volcanic soils and a commitment to paying growers properly for their work. We’ve physically visited every farm we’re sourcing from, met the people growing the coffee, and held and inspected both the coffee cherries and green beans with our own eyes and hands. Once our first shipment reaches the UK, we will personally roast the coffee ourselves. Its premium price reflects the quality we select, the care involved and the relationships we want to sustain.

A story millions of years in the making
The landscape around Poços de Caldas was shaped by ancient volcanic activity. The regional producers’ association traces its distinctive growing territory to a volcanic caldera dating back around 80 million years.
Today, the Região Vulcânica spans twelve municipalities across southern Minas Gerais and neighbouring São Paulo, including Andradas. Coffee farms across the region sit at elevations of approximately 700–1,300 metres, where volcanic soils, cooler conditions and mountainous terrain create a distinctive environment for growing speciality coffee. About the Região Vulcânica · Poços de Caldas municipality
But the landscape is only part of the story.
The other part belongs to the growers: their knowledge of the land, their decisions throughout the season and the care they put into producing each harvest.
That is what we want people to recognise when they choose Storytale.

We believe the people growing exceptional coffee should benefit from its success
Our passion for this project goes beyond finding coffee we love.
We want to build a business in which the people producing it are recognised, valued and paid properly. Quality takes work, and our approach to buying coffee should respect that work.
Our aim is to develop long-term relationships with growers, with fair, clearly agreed prices that recognise the quality of their coffee and support their ability to plan ahead.
As Storytale grows, we want those relationships to grow with it—creating repeat business and opportunities that extend beyond a single shipment.
Supporting the farmers is part of why we are starting this company.

We’ve been there. We’ve held the coffee in our hands.
We’re Thiago and Joseph, the founders of Storytale Coffee.
Thiago brings barista experience and personal connections in Brazil. Joseph brings experience building and running businesses in the UK. Together, we’re turning those skills and relationships into a coffee brand with a direct connection to its origins.
Our visits to the farms have allowed us to meet the growers, see the conditions in which their coffee is produced and inspect the cherries and green beans ourselves.
That personal involvement will continue in the UK, where we will roast the coffee ourselves, developing each roast through tasting and careful attention to the beans we have selected.
We want to know the coffee we sell and be able to explain the choices behind it.
Every bag should bring you closer to its origin
When you buy Storytale Coffee, we want you to discover the people behind your cup.
Through our website and QR codes on the packaging, we plan to share the supplying farms and cooperatives, the growers’ own stories and the journey their coffee takes to reach you.
We’ll explain where each release comes from, how it was processed and how we have chosen to roast it.
Our vision is a coffee brand where exceptional flavour and a meaningful connection to the growers belong together.
Help bring our first shipment to the UK
We are raising £20,000 towards our first release, with a planned opening import of approximately two tonnes of green coffee.
We plan to combine campaign funding with our own investment. Your backing will contribute to:
Purchasing the selected coffee from our supplying producers.
Transporting it to the UK, including freight, insurance and import handling.
Preparing and roasting the coffee, including tasting and quality checks.
Producing the packaging, labels and materials for our first release.
Packing and delivering supporters’ rewards.
Covering campaign fees and a contingency allowance.
This is the practical work needed to turn the coffee we have seen and selected in Brazil into the bags our first customers will receive.

Become a founding supporter
By choosing a coffee reward, you can help make that first shipment possible and receive coffee from our opening release.
You’ll also become a founding supporter of Storytale, receive updates as the project progresses and get early access to future releases.
We’ll share the journey from the farms to the shipment, through roasting and finally to dispatch. Each reward will set out what you receive and its estimated delivery date, and we’ll keep you informed if the timetable changes.
This is a rewards campaign: your pledge supports the launch and provides the benefits listed in your chosen package, without shares or financial returns.
Building beyond the first harvest
Our wider ambition is to raise £50,000.
Funding beyond our initial target would help us fulfil additional rewards, strengthen stock and working capital, reach more customers and develop further producer relationships.
We want to build a lasting business—one that customers return to for the coffee, and growers can return to for a dependable relationship.
If you believe exceptional coffee should come with a real connection to its origins and respect for the people producing it, we would love you to join us.
Back our first import. Taste the coffee. Discover the growers.
Thank you for helping us begin.
