About Our Campaign
We are Great Horton Park Chapel Cricket Club (GHPC CC), a volunteer-run Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) and ECB Clubmark-accredited hub in Bradford.
Over the last few years, we’ve worked hard to modernize our facilities and drastically lower our carbon footprint. Now, we need your help to tackle our biggest sustainability project yet: fully insulating our clubhouse.
By taking this final step, we can pave the way for an Air Source Heat Pump, fully decarbonizing our heating and securing a warm, welcoming space for our community for years to come.
Who We Are
Formed in 2015 through the merger of Great Horton CC (est. 1903) and Park Chapel CC (est. 1887), our club is built on community, inclusion, and passion for the game. We play on Ewart Street under a 30-year lease and are proud to offer:
- 3 Senior Cricket Teams
- A Thriving Women's Team
- 4 Junior Teams
- A Home for Community Groups—including local Snooker and Chess clubs in the winter, as well as community events year-round.
Why We Need Your Help
Our clubhouse was last majorly updated in the 1980s. While we have made huge strides in renovating the interior and improving energy efficiency, our walls are still losing massive amounts of heat.
Our eco-initiatives earned us the Environmental Sustainability Award at the Bradford Sports Awards!
Thanks to volunteer effort, club fundraising, and grant support, we’ve already:
- Installed LED lighting throughout the clubhouse.
- Replaced rotting single-glazed windows with modern double-glazing.
- Added loft insulation.
- Fitted roof solar panels and battery storage.
- Upgraded to smart Hive heating controls.
- Added a new kitchen, baby changing facility, ramped patio, and wide double doors for full wheelchair accessibility.
How Your Donation Will Make a Difference
Every pound raised goes directly toward insulating our walls.
Cutting our energy means the money saved on heating bills is reinvested back into grassroots cricket, coaching, and junior equipment. Supporting our vision of a dedicated girls' section and to make our community space warm and comfortable year-round allowing for a self funded warm spaces intiative.
