Aim

We’re raising £30K towards the refurbishment costs of the much-loved Lock & Quay Community Pub to secure its future for generations!

Help Bootle’s community-owned pub! 

The Lock & Quay is more than a pub.

It’s something the people of Bootle built together.

For over 20 years, local residents have been transforming this canalside neighbourhood - creating artworks, cleaning and greening the area, and bringing life back to a place that many had forgotten. Out of that work came something special: Bootle’s own community-owned multi-award winning  pub.

Now in its 10th year, the Lock & Quay is the Liverpool City Region’s only community-owned pub, where every penny of profit goes straight back into Bootle. It’s a thriving community hub, hosting community-led cultural events & festivals, supporting local groups and cultivating emerging talent alongside providing a safe, warm space, and a foodbank drop-off point.

But like many historic buildings, the pub now needs investment to keep serving the community. 

To secure the pub’s future, we are delivering a £1 million refurbishment project, which will create guest accommodation above the pub and a new kitchen for food, helping make the venue more sustainable while continuing to grow Bootle as the destination the community has worked hard to create.

We’ve already secured £415,000..

Work starts to repair the roof very soon, but we need to raise an extra £30,000 for fixtures and fittings – this is where YOU can help!
