Aim
Empowering pupils to create biodiverse school gardens, building leadership, wellbeing and a green legacy for LCFS’s 80th year.
For 80 years, the London Children’s Flower Society has worked to inspire young people through horticulture, gardening and environmental learning. Since 1945, our volunteers, staff and supporters have helped generations of children connect with nature, develop confidence and take pride in creating beautiful green spaces in their schools and communities.
In 2025 we celebrated our 80th anniversary and we want to mark this milestone by looking firmly to the future.
Our vision is simple but powerful: to give children across London the chance to lead the creation of biodiverse, wildlife-friendly green spaces in their own schools.
We are launching a special anniversary project called 80 Years of Growing Together. Through this programme, pupils design and present their own planting ideas, and successful schools receive £500 to bring their plans to life. Children take the lead from planning, planting and caring for spaces that improve wellbeing, support pollinators and transform unused corners of their school grounds into thriving green areas.
We already have funding to support 14 schools, but our dream is to reach 80 schools, one for every year of our history.
Every pound raised through this Crowdfunder will go directly towards:
- Providing £500 grants to schools
- Supporting pupils to deliver and maintain their projects
- Celebrating their achievements at our Awards Ceremony at London Guidhall
