A piece, just for you!
Henley-on-Thames, United Kingdom
Aim
Support Boldhorn Press on a quest to make good quality, affordable music for bands by entering this competition
The Prize
You could win the opportunity to have a piece written especially for you. You pick the instruments, the style and many more options!
In addition, I would really love to work with you or your band, to get the most out of your repertoire and develop your skills. As a highly experienced music educator, composer, arranger and musical director, you or your music group could 'win me for a day'.
The last commission I wrote was purchased for over £500. Throw in a day of my time as well and you can see that this prize is worth some serious cash!
The Cause
Boldhorn Press is in need of funds so that I can keep creating quality, affordable and popular pieces to add to your repertoire
Creating music is not as lucrative an industry as you may think. On average, each piece takes around 20 hours to complete and at Boldhorn Press, after rigorous social media marketing and arrangement costs, the most I've earned from a single piece has been just over £100 - making me a massive £5 an hour.
I love making the music. I've seen some videos of the performances and I know that some bands are really enjoying playing my arrangements, but I have had to slow production recently so that I can afford to live (taking on menial jobs to 'make ends meet')
I need to keep the music affordable: the more expensive arrangements just don't sell. If I put the prices up, the buying market would dry up.
So, finally, your entry into this competition would help me out A LOT. It would mean that I could afford to spend more time as a composer/arranger and less time stacking shelves.
Thank you in advance for supporting a struggling musician.
Stay Bold! 🎺

Please share this with as many people as possible. Whether they are brass bandies, chamber musicians or pub singers, all are encouraged to enter and I will write a song in the style of their choosing.
The more people who see your prize draw, the more entries I'll get and the more I'll hopefully raise. Know someone who'd love to win this? Share it with them!
