Building free therapy centre for women in Loughborough!
We've found our home. Now we need your help to open the doors.
After months of searching, planning, and believing in something that didn't exist yet, Her Village Project has signed the lease on our very first permanent space in Loughborough.
This is more than just an address. It's the moment we've been working toward since day one — a real, dedicated space where women and mothers across the East Midlands can finally access free and low-cost, trauma-informed therapy without the barriers that keep so many people locked out of the support they desperately need.
Why this matters
Right now, women in Loughborough are living with anxiety, trauma, and isolation, with nowhere affordable to turn. NHS waiting lists for talking therapy in Leicestershire regularly stretch past a year. Private therapy costs £50-£80 a session — completely out of reach for women on low incomes, in precarious work, or caring for children alone.
New mothers are struggling in silence, with no one to hold their baby while they take five minutes to simply breathe. Women who have experienced domestic abuse, poverty, or childhood trauma are falling through the gaps between services that were never built with them in mind.
This space changes that. It means we can finally say yes — not "join the waiting list," not "we'll see," but yes, come in, we're here for you.
What we need
We have until 28th September to raise £1,650, covering our deposit and lease fees. Once secured, we'll spend the following two months transforming the space — fitting it out with everything needed to make it warm, safe, and genuinely ready to welcome the women who need it. We're aiming to open our doors and begin seeing clients by 1st December.
What your donation actually does
Every contribution, whatever size, moves us closer to that door opening. £5 helps toward materials. £20 could cover a portion of our fit-out. Whatever you can give becomes part of the first permanent home Her Village Project has ever had — and part of the reason a woman who's been struggling alone finally has somewhere real to go.
