🎭 Help Future-Proof Our Community Centre Theatre
Our community theatre sits at the heart of the Ingatestone & Fryerning Community Centre - a space used every week by local drama groups, clubs, classes, meetings, and community events.
We have big aspirations for this much-loved venue and are exploring ways to improve and future-proof it so it can continue to serve the community for years to come. With the right support, we’ll be able to achieve more during this initial phase of improvements.
All funds raised will go directly to the Ingatestone & Fryerning Community Association (the registered charity that manages and maintains the community centre for the benefit of the local community).

💡 What We’re Fundraising For
We are aiming to enhance the performance and event space within the community centre. Our current plans and aspirations include:
- New stage and house lighting - to enhance theatre productions, presentations, and community events
- Improved sound equipment - so performances, talks, and activities can be heard clearly
- A new, larger screen - to support an enhanced community cinema experience, as well as other screenings and presentations
- Exploring the feasibility of air conditioning - to make the space more comfortable and safer during rehearsals, performances, and gatherings
- Upgraded electrical infrastructure - replacing old wiring with modern, safer electrical systems to support new equipment and ensure the building remains safe and reliable for future use
- Hearing support system - to make performances, talks and events more accessible for people with hearing loss
The extent of what we can deliver in this phase will depend on the level of funding and support we receive.
These improvements will support our local youth and adult theatre groups, while also making the community centre a better space for clubs, classes, community groups and events throughout the year.
🌟 Why It Matters
The community centre is a place where people of all ages come together to learn, perform, socialise and celebrate. Improving the facilities will help the space remain a vibrant, adaptable venue for current groups while opening the door for new activities and opportunities in the future - from youth drama workshops and holiday theatre camps to open mic nights, cabaret performances and more.
It’s also about creating inclusive opportunities where people can build confidence, develop skills, and explore creativity - both on and off stage.
