To help save our Nature education community hub
🌿 Support Nature Play — We Urgently Need Help from Our Amazing Community 🌿
It’s with heavy hearts that we share this message. Due to a lack of local funding, we are struggling to cover our rent — and now face the heartbreaking reality that we may have to close our doors in just 14 days.
For years, Nature Play has been a lifeline for families in and around Lowestoft — a place where children can grow, explore, and connect with nature in a safe and nurturing environment. Every week, we welcome hundreds of families from all walks of life. We’ve poured our hearts into creating a space filled with warmth, laughter, and learning — but now, without urgent support, we could lose it all.
We do have a longer-term plan in place, but right now, we simply cannot afford to miss another rent payment. It’s painful for us, as a not-for-profit organisation, to have to ask for help — but if our community can come together now, we truly believe we can keep this beautiful space alive.
💚 What Nature Play Means to Our Community
We believe every child and family deserves a safe, nurturing space to grow, connect, and thrive. Our community hub reaches over 1,000 families every week, offering a lifeline of support and belonging.
Here’s who we support every single day:
🌿 Under 5s Groups – Gentle, nurturing spaces for little explorers and their parents.
🌿 Home Education Families – Weekly nature-based learning, creative play, and connection.
🌿 SEN Children & Families – Inclusive sessions filled with patience, understanding, and sensory experiences.
🌿 Childminders & Little Ones – Discounted access to our enriching environment.
🌿 After School Clubs – Calm, creative spaces for families to reconnect through play.
We also proudly open our doors to:
🌸 Home For Good, a fostering and adoption charity changing lives across Suffolk.
🌸 Waveney National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS), who use our facilities completely free of charge, ensuring every child has a place to belong.
Beyond our regular groups, we host free community events, offer a Warm Room service during the colder months, and run a Free Library that’s loved and used daily by local families.
🌱 Our Mission
Our mission is simple:
To make nature, play, and wellbeing accessible to all — especially for families facing financial or emotional hardship.
But we can’t do this without you.
💔 Please Don’t Let This Be the End
Nature Play is more than just a space — it’s a community. A place where friendships form, confidence grows, and children feel seen, valued, and free to just be themselves.
If we close our doors, it won’t just be the loss of a building — it will be the loss of a haven that so many children and families depend on.
💚 Please help us keep Nature Play alive — for our children, for our families, and for our community.
Together, we can make sure the laughter, learning, and love that fill this space continue for years to come. 💚
