Aim
I am fund raising my share of the publishing costs for my book which tells the story of my journey from Gobekli Tepe to Cape Town.
I have received hybrid publishing offers for my book, Ancient Stones to African Shores.
The days of debut authors being granted full publishing deals are virtually gone.
My preferred offer is from a reputable UK publisher and allows me to retain full ownership of my work while receiving 50% of the royalties from the book, e-book and audio book sales.
I will give 5% of my share of the first 12 months royalties to anyone who makes a donation of £1000 and all donations of £100 or more will receive a signed copy of the book.
Should anyone invest the full £4000 they will receive 25% of my share of the royalties.
With an anticipated first year's sales of 20k copies at £16 each, this is an attractive offer!
The full synopsis is :
Ancient Stones to African Shores is the story of The Scouse African’s journey from Gobekli Tepe in Turkey to Cape Town in South Africa.
Along the way he visits numerous ancient megalithic sites and highlights the similarities in the construction of these magnificent structures as well as the mythology and symbolism of the builders.
With the objective of showing that the world is not as dangerous as we are led to believe he collects the stories of the incredible people he meets and tells those stories exactly as they were shared with him. Some will make you laugh, some will make you cry.
A few will do both!
His journey takes him to ten countries, two of which he enters in secret, through hidden tunnels and hidden in the back of a truck as he witnesses wars and humanitarian disasters, both man-made and climate related.
Read the full and unedited transcripts of interviews conducted in secrecy with ex soldiers and members of militant groups and his experience of being shadowed by secret police, being held at gunpoint by private security companies and detained for questioning in more than one aluminium clad room!
Join him on his homage to Nelson Mandela as he follows Madiba’s footsteps from Addis Ababa to Cape Town and his personal tribute to his own father’s time in Kenya.
Most importantly of all follow him as he explores his key objective and provides evidence to show that, wherever we encounter them, human beings have the same basic wants and desires. That in spite of our different appearances, beliefs and customs, we are all part of the same race, the Human race.
He spends a lot of time in Pyramids and underground tombs, drinks lots of coffee and almost gets to see the Arc of the Covenant!
As a freelance gonzo journalist he tells his story his way. This is his truth as he sees it. These are his emotions as he felt them.
The Scouse African was born in Liverpool and moved with his family to South Africa in the early 1980’s. His sense of humour reflects this.
Like him, the message of Ancient Stones is a mixture of cultures.

Simunye is a Zulu word meaning…we are one!
