Aim

Building Relationships Supporting Communities

The HUB Project is a local, inclusive programme in central Loughborough. We aim to tackle food poverty, promote healthy living, and support economic resilience for families facing hardship. Our activities include a subsidised pantry, a second-hand boutique (including school uniforms), and a not-for-profit café offering a warm, nutritious lunch five days a week. We reduce food waste by using surplus pantry stock in our meals. We host activities in the holidays for children mainly including seasonal crafts. Our central location ensures accessibility for all, with or without transport. Since launching during the pandemic, The HUB has grown steadily, demonstrating a strong track record of responding to local needs and fostering community wellbeing.

We’ve seen a sharp rise in demand at The HUB Project, with membership growing from 480 to 809 households between April 2024 and March 2025. During school holidays, families who rely on free school meals face additional financial pressure, making paid activities unaffordable. The HUB Project offers a safe, welcoming space where families can connect and access support.
