An independent short film exploring the relationship between the body and sexuality.
We are a group of independent Scottish based filmmakers who are making a queer short film that explores the themes of identity, sexuality and the relationship with the body. This project is not part of a course or for a University assignment but is rather a passion project for all of those involved with the film. Our goal for this film is simple, to make a movie! A movie that we feel needs to be made now as it touches upon subject matter that is personal and shines a light on the trauma and resolve of a marginalized community that is being continually berated by society and neglected by the powers at be. As filmmakers we feel it is our duty to put onto the screen faithful and respectable stories that are yes, at times hard to swallow, but nevertheless need to be told and represented in mainstream media so they can comfort, engage, educate and transport a wider audience. Our project aims to bring together a slew of queer and independent filmmakers, artists and expertise from across Scotland to create a meaningful and unique story about a queer experience that is often stereotypical and misrepresented in media.
The message of the film and the overall project is one of belonging. A feeling that everyone, no matter race, sexuality, gender and age has had to navigate at some point in their life. It is because of this that we invite everyone to be a part of the project and to share in the joy of aiding a project that aims at creating a safe space for queer creatives and showcasing their voices in such a powerful and admired art-form like film.
Your support and contribution to the project will enable us to make this film a reality. All funding and donations will go directly to the project and ensure we get the kit, locations, cast and materials we need in order to bring our vision to life!
