Women’s Handball Players Fundraising for Mini-Hand

Aim

Our women’s handball players are raising funds to cover sports hall costs for our U10 mini-handball teams. Every donation helps! 🤾‍♀️❤️

Who are we?

Team Northants Handball is a not-for-profit, volunteer-run community sports club dedicated to growing girls and women’s handball across Northamptonshire.

We believe every girl deserves the opportunity to play sport, develop confidence and be part of a supportive team, regardless of her background or financial circumstances. Through qualified coaching and a positive, inclusive environment, we help players develop not only their handball skills but also essential life skills such as teamwork, resilience and leadership.

Although we are a young club, we have already made a significant impact. In our first season, our U14 team qualified for the National Finals, finishing 5th in England, while our U16 team finished 3rd in the South Regional League. We were also honoured to be shortlisted as finalists for the England Handball Club of the Year Award as we celebrated our first anniversary.

Today, our club continues to grow, with teams ranging from mini-handball to U14, U16 and U19, alongside our women’s team competing in the Premier Handball League.

Our women’s team is made up entirely of amateur players who combine their passion for handball with work, studies and family commitments. They receive no payment for playing; instead, they pay to represent their club and compete at this level. Their dedication, commitment and love for the sport are at the heart of everything we do. We want to ensure that the financial burden of playing does not prevent our athletes from pursuing their ambitions.

Everything we do is made possible by the dedication of our players, volunteers, coaches, parents and supporters. As a not-for-profit club, every pound we receive is reinvested into creating opportunities for our players. However, sports hall hire for training sessions and matches represents a significant ongoing cost across all our teams.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Sports hall hire for training and matches is one of our biggest costs. As we launch our new mini-handball project, membership fees don’t yet cover the cost of hiring the sports hall. We want to give our youngest players the opportunity to discover handball, develop their skills and enjoy being part of a team, but we need your help to make it possible.

As a not-for-profit, volunteer-run club, we rely on your support to keep all our teams playing, from mini-handball to U14, U16, U19 and our women’s team competing in the Premier Handball League.

Our women’s players are all amateurs who pay to play and receive no payment for representing the club. They are now raising funds to help cover these costs and ease the financial burden on our club, while continuing to give girls and women across Northamptonshire opportunities to develop, compete and thrive.

Every donation, big or small, will help cover sports hall hire, keep our teams on the court and build a strong future for handball in our community.

How you can play your part

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.

3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!

4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
