Aim

To use minority sports to deliver inclusive, empowering physical activity & education to communities in need across Tyne & Wear.

Who are we?

Power Through Sport CIC is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing inclusive and empowering physical activity and educational opportunities through minority sports across Tyne and Wear. Established in 2016, we specialise in roller sports and ball hockey, aiming to unite communities and inspire positive change.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We’re crowdfunding to continue and strengthen the vital work we do—like our popular Park Nights and Roller Disco's—and to expand all our programmes so they better reflect the needs of the communities we serve. With some funding already secured, your support will help us go further: buying equipment, delivering training, and tailoring activities based on real feedback. Together, we’re building opportunities, rolling back inequalities, and keeping our impact meaningful and relevant.

How we’ll spend the money raised

Our ultimate goal is to secure a permanent home for Power Through Sport CIC—a dedicated space where we can grow and deliver more consistently. In the meantime, your donations will go towards:

  • Purchasing essential equipment for ball and roller hockey.
  • Providing training for coaches and volunteers to maintain high-quality sessions.
  • Continuing our community outreach programs, including popular park nights and detached youth work.
  • Supporting our hardship fund, which helps families access sessions they otherwise couldn’t afford.

Here’s how your support can make a direct impact:

  • £5 subsidises an individual's entrance as part of our hardship fund.
  • £10 will feed 4 teenagers as part of our Park Nights Youth Project.
  • £20 helps to pay for 4 Hockey Balls for our Ball and Roller Hockey Programmes.
  • £40 covers 1 hour of hall hire allowing memorable moments to be made.
  • £80 helps to put one of our volunteers through First Aid Training.

Every contribution helps us break down barriers and bring the power of sport to more young people.

Community impact

Our programmes are designed to benefit people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. By delivering accessible sports like roller hockey, ball hockey and a range of skating sessions, we create safe, inclusive spaces that support physical health, mental well-being, and stronger communities. Through our detached youth work, we also reach young people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, helping reduce isolation and widen access to opportunity.
