Aim

The aim of my project is to continuously help and support Issa with supporting his family through the aftermath of genocide.

Hi there I'm Demi,

Thank you for showing interest in the campaign hereby organised by our Mutual Aid network.

Since he reached out, it's important to us to continuously support Issa in carrying his family through the aftermath of genocide forced upon them.

I'm disabled myself and on government subsidies, also an unsupported lone parent of two children.

Effectively I can't provide financial support to them by myself.

After all the verification checks, we are therefore reaching out to you through this Crowdfunder, and all those in the position to provide this help and support our mission.

Issa is a very patient and kind young man.

He is helping his sister raise her 2 children, and caring for their parents.

The kids however suffer from malnutrition, and his mother needs an eye surgery:

Their short term needs are comprised of daily life essentials:

- clean water

- flour to stop the children's crying

- and basic food parcels with fresh fruit and vegetables to reverse the kids' malnutrition

Long-term necessities required:

- their home was bombed to the ground, so they need to be in a position to pay for safe shelter for the kids.

Although we all admire their strength, bravery and perseverance, Issa is hoping to restart earning a stable source of income.

In his own words:

I am Issa, a 25-year-old man. In other countries, this age is supposed to be "Youth Spring," a time when I plan for my future, build my dreams, and find my way in life. But in Gaza, ages are not measured in years, but on the nights we survive. I've grown a hundred years in one night.

Today, I am no longer just a young man dreaming; I have become the father, mother, and support of six lives living in my shadow in the rubble of our home in northern Gaza. I am the last wall on which they are based on a land where there is no longer a wall.

Aid was aging, Aid was looking at the rubble.

I was proud of my work in local commerce, I was building with my own hands a future for my family step by step. My dreams were both simple and big. But the war left us no wall, no penny, not even an untouched memory. My hands, which used to build and trade, have now turned into hands looking bitterly in the rubble for a clean drink of water or a dry breadcrumb that silences the cries of the young.

Hunger pain and injury pain

In the hands of two children, who do not realize what “siege” means or “flour shortage. ” they only understand the "hunger tablets" which squeezes their small intestines every night. The hardest moment I have is not fear of being bombed, but the moment I look into their eyes and read one question that tears my soul apart: "When are we going to eat, Jesus? ”. I have nothing but silence and tears to hide behind the features of false power.

The tragedy did not stop at hunger; the war left a lasting scar in my heart and family. My sister, Derby's companion, was seriously injured in the eye as a result of the shelling. Every time I look at her, I see her silent pain and her urgent need for a cure that I have no price in this suffocating siege.

Call to stay... not impossible

We are not asking for the impossible, we are asking for our right to stay on our land. We hold on to life even though everything around us calls for death.

Every hand that extends to us today is not just a “donation,” it is:

A breadcrumb ends the crying of a hungry baby.

A soup of water quenches the thirst of a beleaguered family.💔😭🙏

I hope to cure the curse of my sister who lost her light.

A glimmer of hope tells us that the world, despite its silence, has not completely forgotten us.

I, Issa, from the heart of suffering in northern Gaza, write to you so that we are not just numbers on the news, but spirits clinging to survival💔😭😭🙏😭😭😭

Your donations are their lifeline so please be as generous as possible when able to extend your kindness and precious coins to them 🫴🏼✨

Thank you very much for reading through and all your kind joint solidarity with Issa and his family 💞

We wish you stay blessed,

Demi, Issa and families 🤗
