Gamlingay Pre-School Timber Trail Fund

Aim

Gamlingay Pre-school is seeking support to purchase a timber trail, creating an exciting outdoor learning environment for our children

Outdoor play is a vital part of early childhood development. Children join pre-school with varying levels of confidence, balance, coordination and physical resilience. A moveable timber trail will provide a safe and engaging way for children to develop these essential skills while encouraging healthy, active play.

The trail will consist of a range of natural timber balancing, climbing, stepping and jumping elements that can be reconfigured into different layouts, providing endless opportunities for imaginative play, physical development and outdoor learning.

The flexibility of the equipment means challenges can be adapted to suit different ages, abilities and developmental stages, ensuring every child can participate and succeed.

• Improve children's balance, coordination and gross motor skills.
• Build confidence, resilience and independence through physical challenge.
• Encourage problem-solving, risk assessment and imaginative play.
• Support communication, teamwork and social interaction.
• Enhance outdoor learning opportunities using natural, sustainable materials.

The project will directly benefit all children attending Gamlingay Pre-school, as well as future cohorts for many years to come. Children will enjoy a richer outdoor environment that supports their physical, emotional and social development.

The moveable timber trail will transform our outdoor space into an engaging adventure area where children can challenge themselves, build confidence and develop essential life skills through play.
