Support the Sacred Birth Centre after the flood

Aim

Help rebuild the Sacred Birth Centre after the devastating flood that took place in Glastonbury on 22nd June.

On 22nd June, Glastonbury experienced severe flooding. Like many local organisations, the Sacred Birth Centre was badly affected.

Flood water caused extensive damage throughout the Centre. Carpets will need replacing, stud walls have been damaged and require rebuilding, and skirting boards and architraves must all be removed and replaced before we can safely reopen.

The good news is that our landlords insurance is covering much of the essential building work.

The difficult part is everything else.

For at least the next month, the Sacred Birth Centre will be unable to open its doors. During that time we will lose the income that keeps the Centre running while still facing our ongoing costs, including rent, utilities, insurance and supporting the work that continues behind the scenes.

The Sacred Birth Centre exists because every family deserves compassionate support through pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. Every week, we welcome parents, babies, birth workers, and families into a space that has become a place of connection, healing, and community.

Over the past nine months, we have hosted support groups, workshops, birth education, therapy sessions, our Birth Stories Project, and created a welcoming home where people know they belong.

We are determined that a flood will not stop that work.

Your donation will help us:

• Cover lost income while the Centre is closed.
• Replace uninsured items and furnishings.
• Prepare the Centre so we can reopen as quickly as possible.
• Ensure that families continue to have access to a safe, welcoming and nurturing space in the heart of Glastonbury.
