The Prize

This piece is the first collaboration of its kind involving some of the countries leading glass artists whom are based at both Stourbridge Glass museum and The House of Marbles.

Here's how the preparations went

On the day of making at the House of Marbles

The glass fish coated in sterling silver leaf mounted on a glass wave took days to prepare. Components created at the museum were taken to The House of Marbles for their Burnt Saucepan event early in July. In front of a large audience the fish was sculpted whilst a second team worked to create the wave. In a moment off seamless choreography the two elements were combined to form this very special one off.

Take a look at more of the making action.

This is a rare chance to win a stunning one off created by some of the countries most talented glass artists. For as little as £5 you can purchase an entry and support the valuable work of a Marine Conservation Society.

This one off is signed with a small inscription explaining when and where it was made. Theres only one like it in the world, we estimate its value to be in excess of £1200!

The Cause

We want to support the valuable work of the Marine Conservation Society. All the money raised in this prise draw will go to them, to assist with achieving their goals. We all love our coastal wildlife and enjoy the sea. Whether it's Scuba diving, or  just a paddle on a sunny day. It's important this luxury is not taken for granted.

Read on to learn a little more in their words.

Our ocean is at a tipping point. We're fighting to turn the tide on ocean pollution and restore the health of the seas.

Today, 90% of world fish stocks are fully or over-exploited from fishing. With added pressure from climate change and pollution, we’re moving into dangerous waters. Join us in making seafood more sustainable.

Our ocean covers over 70% of our planet. It provides more than half the oxygen we breathe and absorbs nearly a third of our carbon emissions. But today, it’s in crisis. From pollution to habitat destruction, the species that call the ocean home are being harmed. The ocean is losing its ability to help fight the climate crisis and we’re determined to change this. Together with communities, businesses and governments, we can make a difference.
