Help to make High Tide 2026 happen. High Tide is a community based, not for profit music festival that's free to attend for all.
High Tide is a community-led festival that aims to reignite the spirit of Eel Pie Island in its heyday here in the heart of Twickenham. We seek out and showcase a diverse selection of the best emerging and established bands and musicians across 15 stages.
And, while all the music is free to watch, we make sure that the artists get fairly paid for their time and talent and the enjoyment they bring to our community.
The festival is made possible thanks to a collaboration between High Tide Twickenham CIC, Discover Twickenham BID, Richmond Council, The Arts Council, Eel Pie Records, The Friends of Twickenham Green and a wide range of local Twickenham businesses.
We do not seek large corporate sponsors, preferring to maintain the independence and free spirit that represents and benefits Twickenham. The festival is a not for profit venture, run on a voluntary basis by a team led by Kevin Jones.
High Tide was founded by Kevin and Phil Penman of Eel Pie Records and the first event took place in June 2019. In hindsight, it was quite a small event, although it didn't feel like that at the time! There were 6 stages/venues, located mainly around the immediate Church Street area. We were worried that no-one would come. We were wrong! It was a great success and it was clear straight away that there was an appetite for a 'proper' music festival in Twickenham featuring emerging artists as well as some more familiar bands.
By 2023, High Tide had expanded to its current scale and was clearly here to stay, so we created a Community Interest Company (CIC) - High Tide Twickenham CIC - to manage the festival. Leila Jones was appointed as a director alongside Kevin in place of Phil.
High Tide 2026

We believe it's important to celebrate our cultural heritage in Twickenham and do what we can to act as an inspiration to young musicians. Twickenham is a hive of creativity and the more we celebrate the musical talent we have on offer, the more we see new, diverse bands and artists wanting to participate and our community wanting to enjoy them.
High Tide has already become one of London’s biggest free music festivals. This year, on 26 July, the whole of our town can come to together to celebrate and promote our heritage.
What we need from you
High Tide 2026 is being supported by local businesses, Discover Twickenham BID and Richmond Council. This valuable support means that we can start planning the festival and booking bands and musicians.
High Tide has also always been very generously supported by the local community through crowdfunding. We need that support as much as ever before if we are to make High Tide 2026 another amazing day. Costs are ever increasing and we remain committed to paying artists a fair rate.
We also want the festival to remain led by the community for the community, not a corporate sponsored event so we are not seeking support from large corporations.
Your support would mean that we can deliver this community-led, diverse festival that remains free for everyone. Every contribution you make will go directly towards paying the High Tide artists properly for their time and talent and the staging costs.
