Fundraiser for Art Studio & Community Space

Aim

We want to set up a fantastic community focused art studio to host our popular art parties, run workshops and support creative wellbeing.

We want to give the project a home and expand what we offer to help more people!

We are a very small collective of creatives working towards a common goal of creating a community art studio in the Gloucester area, or nearby surrounding villages. Our team and supporters have creative and wellbeing knowledge overspilling and are ready and raring to share! 

We are asking for your support, however as we encounter health barriers in our lives that sometimes slow our progress. This means that although we work incredibly hard, we can be held back by physical health, mental health, chronic health and neurodevelopmental differences that create barriers. It's for this reason we would love your help to support us to create our art studio with a difference, a reality! We refuse to be held back by our struggles, but we will get there faster with a little help from our friends :D. We know that the work we do is valuable, high quality and loved by our customers, parents and class goers!

We are fundraising alongside self funding to help us to secure the basics to set us up. Money towards renting a space, paying staff a fair wage for their skills, gathering materials, organising and setting up specialist art based sessions. This will enable us to offer SO much more to our community. We'd love to offer funded spaces on our courses and clubs for those that miss out on mental health or wellbeing support or don't currently tick the right boxes on the form, you may know of one! 

I envision a welcoming, inclusive place of great teaching for people to come together, gain skills and build confidence. We want a place to host more regular art and craft sessions and courses, a place where adults and children can come to a weekly session or a one off workshop and where we can host our Arty Parties in style, offering more options!

I want to be able to offer funded spaces for those that need it, hosted by people who understand and are trained to support. I'm passionate about giving work opportunities to people with lived experience, or barriers in their own lives that sometimes hold them back, yet make them uniquely qualified. People who put their heart and soul into their work and are passionate about creativity and all it can bring to people's lives. Our staff and collaborators have years of specialist skills to share and empathy in spades.

I'd love to offer many wellbeing focused options and be a space that supports mental health and wellness in many ways. I'd love a therapeutic art course, day retreats, a club for home schoolers and burned out mums, a space for yoga, counselling, eco friendly plants and clothes swaps, community events, birthday parties and more. I want to support other small businesses and caring practitioners by giving them fair payment for the talent and skills they share, which are so often under appreciated and expected to be provided for free! Small businesses and makers would have an inspiring place to run a fantastic workshop, showcase and sell their creations in our pop up shop, or attend one of our events as a valued collaborator. I want our makers to be supported by the community, and vice versa. 

Our studio will be decorated with heart, a beautiful 'wow' space to inspire, spark imagination, and immerse yourself in. We would upcycle, craft and invite our community to take part in creating magic that people walk into and are mesmerised by! Children will feel like they have entered another world, party photographs will be amazing! The space will evolve as we grow.

It will also be a working space for staff and collaborators. A place to bring a laptop and body double on those difficult biz tasks, to throw ideas around, to train face painting, a place where we can get wet clay off our dining room tables and remove ourselves from home distractions. The space will allow us to work together to support our own health needs, whilst helping others. This is a dream I have held for many years. In the last year I have met and worked alongside incredible people and developed my business. It has shown me that this is the right next route for CWP to go in and do more great things!
