Raising funds through our “Hike the Pike” challenge to improve Bee Fold Lane for 420+ local children and future community sport facilities.
Atherton Collieries Juniors FC is a growing grassroots football club at the heart of the local community, currently supporting over 420 children across 21 boys and girls teams from mini soccer through to youth football. Run by dedicated volunteers, coaches and parents, our aim is to provide a safe, inclusive and positive environment where young people can develop both on and off the pitch. Alongside football, we are working to improve Bee Fold Lane into a long-term community sports hub with better pitches, disability access, safer pathways and facilities that can benefit the wider Atherton community for generations to come.

Atherton Collieries Juniors FC is crowdfunding to help improve Bee Fold Lane and continue expanding opportunities for local children and families through grassroots sport. With over 420 young players across 21 teams and plans to grow significantly over the next five years, demand for safe, quality facilities continues to increase.
Funds raised from our “Hike the Pike” fundraiser will contribute towards:
⚽ Grass pitch improvements and maintenance
♿ Disability access and safer pathways
🚗 Improved parking and site safety
🥅 Training equipment and mini soccer facilities
🌳 Biodiversity and environmental improvements
🏃 Future multi-sport opportunities including community fitness activities
Our project promotes physical activity, inclusion, community wellbeing and affordable access to sport for children of all backgrounds. We are committed to creating a long-term sustainable community sports hub that benefits Atherton and the wider local area.

Atherton Collieries Juniors FC is much more than just a football club. We are a volunteer-led community organisation helping provide positive opportunities, structure and support for hundreds of local children and families across Atherton and surrounding areas.
Bee Fold Lane is used throughout the week by boys and girls of all abilities, helping young people stay active, build confidence, improve mental wellbeing and develop friendships in a safe and inclusive environment. Our club supports over 420 children and continues to grow, including plans to expand girls football, disability inclusion and wider community participation.
The wider project also benefits:
