Help elect a Green Mayor and councillors to fight for better housing, send Starmer a message and transform Lewisham in 2026
Stalled Developments. Rising Rents. Queues outside food banks. We were promised change, but all we’ve seen from Labour is more austerity in a borough that’s becoming increasingly unaffordable.
Labour want you to accept “that’s just how things are”
But people are tired of business as usual. We need a council that listens to the community. And we need your help to make it happen.
Lewisham needs change
For over half a century, Labour has controlled Lewisham. At the last local elections, every single councillor elected was Labour. They’ve become comfortable and complacent, forgetting who they serve - us.
This has had disastrous consequences - maladministration, damp, mouldy and unsafe homes, and a refusal to stand up for justice - from the genocide in Gaza to the two-child benefit cap.
The Labour government is continuing the Tory legacy of denying councils like Lewisham much needed funds. Labour attacked the last government over cuts but now in power they are shamefully silent.
Things don’t have to be this way
The Green party knows councils can choose different priorities. In Lewisham, too many decisions have been shaped by vested interests, pitting communities against developers chasing profit.
Lewisham needs leaders that put the community first.
That’s why Liam Shrivastava is standing to be Mayor of Lewisham at the May 2026 elections. As a local councillor and working in racial and migrant justice, Liam has a track record of protecting local businesses from closure, speaking out on Gaza and advocating for Lewisham tenants facing eviction and disrepair.
Why your support matters
By donating, you’re not just giving money - you’re joining a people-powered movement. Lewisham is a borough with one of the best chances of overturning a Labour majority but we need your help to get there. A Green Mayor and councillors will reduce spending on expensive consultants and contractors, demand more genuinely affordable housing and build a sustainable council that listens and represents people who live here.
Unlike Labour, we don’t have corporate backers. We run effective campaigns on a fraction of what other parties spend - but we can’t do it without you.
We’re funded by ordinary people who believe real change is possible. Here’s what your support can do:
Donate if you can. Share this campaign. Be part of it
Our time is now
The Green Party is making history. With over 180,000 members, we’re polling higher than ever. In Lewisham, we’ve grown from 500 members to almost 2,500 in a few months. You can feel the buzz of a community coming together with hope, energy, and the demand for better things.
Our vision is for a Lewisham shaped by local people - from the ground up. Help us build something powerful - bring hope back to Lewisham.

All sums donated will go into Lewisham Greens general party funds. Please note that we will carry out permissibility checks for any donations over £500. In addition, any single donation (or aggregate donations from the same source in the same calendar year) over the reporting threshold of £11,180 will be published on the Electoral Commission website, including the donor's identity.
Did you know? If you’re a party member, your membership fees largely fund the national Green Party’s work. Local parties like Lewisham rely on donations to pay for their campaigning.
A monthly donation will help us plan ahead for essential campaign costs such as printing literature for our target wards and the Mayoral campaign. Any amount you can give will help, but the more you give, the more we can do.
