Help me open Slinky & Friends!!

Aim

I am raising money to help fund the renovation and stocking of my in person stationery and gift shop in Clifton, Bristol.

Slinky & Friends is a independent stationery and gift shop opening in November 2026 in the heart of Clifton Village in Bristol

I'm Em aka Slinky, I'm an illustrator from Bristol who creates stickers and supplies for journal and scrapbook lovers. 

I have been running my business for 5 years now and in the last two years it has gone from strength to strength thanks to my incredible crafty community. 

Slinky & Friends will be selling stationery and gifts hand illustrated by myself and my friends who also run creative businesses. Creating a space that supports independent small businesses feels really important to me and I am so excited to have a space that can do that. Whilst Bristol is seen as an arty city that supports independents there is a real gap in the market for a shop that sells independent journal supplies and I cannot wait to fill it. 

Not only does opening an in person shop feel like the next logical step for my business but I will be creating a space where I can run workshops and meet with my community. I am so excited to welcome so many of you through the doors. 

Where will your money go?

Setting up a physical shop is an incredibly expensive task. Your money will give me the financial support to create a welcoming and community driven shop by allowing me to decorate my new space, buy furniture to fit the shop and buy new stock for the shop. 

With the community element of my shop being so important to me I will be buying my stock from fellow journaling small businesses which means your money will be supporting the likes of Good Things Noted, Tillie Rose Studios, Lydia Southgate, Heyhunsitsnicole, Sunpuff Studios, Kelly Lou Designs and many more. This element feels so special to me knowing I can support such familiar faces instead of unknown large corporate brands. 

What will you find in Slinky & Friends?

You will find an array of journaling goods such as sticker sheets and die cut stickers (manufactured in Bristol by stickershop.co.uk) scrap paper packs, washi tapes, postcards, art prints, bookmarks, colouring in books, keyrings, charms, sticker vending machines, mystery gachapon machines and more. 

What are the rewards for your donation?

I have designed a collection of stickers for pledges alongside tickets for workshops. These will all be sent out in the month of November. I will also be offering a voucher which can either be used online or in store when you visit.
