We need to raise funds to rebuild the infrastructure of the village hall floor, including the underfloor heating system.
Bardon Mill and Henshaw Village Hall is well loved and used by the community. The committee is made up of dedicated volunteers who are responsible for the running of the hall.
We raised funds to replace the wooden floor, but it soon became apparent that there was a major problem beneath the surface.
On the advice of local builders, the original architect, and other experts, we are have been advised that the only long term solution is replacement of the infrastructure and underfloor heating system. This is costly.
Funds were recently raised for a new heat pump, solar panels, battery storage and the top wooden layer of the floor.
Grant funding is not an option: the application process is lengthy, and many of the grant funders have already given generously to the village hall for recent projects. There an urgent need to crack on with this: local businesses that use the hall are missing income, people are unable to attend their classes, the WI can't meet, and birthday parties, family gatherings, and other bookings have had to be cancelled. We are also losing income.
Many local people are offering their time to take up the old floor, but we need to raise the cash for the replacement.
A builder is lined up and ready to build up the floor.
We are, therefore, reaching out to the community for financial help.
It is important to get the valuable asset that the village hall is, up and running again for the community as soon as possible.
So, it's over to you, folks. Please give generously. Thank you.
