Aim

As we celebrate our 90th Anniversary we want to secure the band’s future and start to raise more towards a new home

As part of Swinton & District Excelsior Band's 90th Anniversary celebrations, we are launching our "90 for 90 in 90" Challenge to bring together band members, families, friends and supporters in a fun, inclusive fundraising effort.

The challenge is simple: participants set themselves a personal "90 in 90" goal to complete over 90 days, from 1st July to 28th September.

Challenges can be anything from walking 90 miles, completing 90 practice sessions, learning 90 bars of music, carrying out 90 acts of kindness, or creating a completely unique challenge. The aim is to encourage one another, have fun, improve wellbeing, celebrate our 90th Anniversary and raise funds for the band's future.

Swinton & District Excelsior Band has been serving the local community through music since 1936 and is proud to be a recipient of the King's Award for Voluntary Service. We provide opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy brass music and deliver educational projects, including free brass tuition in local schools.

Every pound raised through this challenge will go directly into our New Bandroom Fund. Our vision is to secure a permanent, accessible and sustainable home for the band, providing rehearsal facilities, music education space, instrument storage and a community hub for future generations. This is just the start of a 5 to 10 year project.

By supporting our challenge, you are not only helping participants achieve their personal goals, but also helping to secure the future of community music-making in our area. Together, we're celebrating 90 years of music while building the foundations for the next 90 years.
