Monmouth Flood Damage, Help Us Rebuild Our Salon

Aim

To help rebuild Callisto Style after the recent flooding so we can reopen and continue serving our community.

❤️ Our Story

On Friday night, our salon, Callisto Style in Monmouth, was hit by flooding. The water entered the building quickly and left behind thick silt, damaged furniture, ruined stock and contamination from sewage. The walls, flooring, seating areas, electrical equipment and treatment rooms have all been affected.

We take huge pride in keeping our salon clean, safe and welcoming, which now means the damaged areas must be professionally sanitised, stripped out and rebuilt before we can reopen.

💛 Why We’re Fundraising

We’ve already begun clearing out what we can, but the financial impact is significant. Insurance will help to a degree, but there are areas it won’t cover and the immediate loss of trade means income has stopped overnight while bills, wages and responsibilities haven’t. Our insurance flood excess alone is £10,000, which must be paid before any repair or restoration work can begin.

This fundraiser has been set up because many clients and members of our community have reached out asking how they can help, also friends and family that are a lot further away! Truthfully, we wouldn’t be doing this if people hadn’t encouraged us to — and we’re incredibly grateful for the kindness and support already shown.

🌿 What Callisto Style Means to Us and the Community

Callisto Style isn’t just a salon. It’s a place where people come to feel themselves again… a place where confidence grows, friendships form and people are listened to, not rushed.

Over the years we’ve held charity events, raised funds, created a safe space for clients of all ages and welcomed so many lovely people through our doors. We’ve worked hard to build something meaningful for Monmouth, and we’re determined not to lose it.

If kindness carries this further than our own needs, the remainder won’t go to waste. It will be donated to others here in Monmouth… families and businesses who are facing the same heartbreak and disruption. Our aim isn’t just to rebuild Callisto Style, but to help our community recover together.

🔧 What the Funds Will Go Towards

Funds raised will help with:

• Deep cleaning and sanitation
• Removal of damaged flooring, furniture and fixtures
• Replacing essential salon equipment
• Rebuilding walls and interiors affected by water and sewage
• Replacing stock that has been contaminated or destroyed
• Supporting the team while we are unable to trade
• Any additional funds will be donated to others in need in the area

Anything raised will go directly into restoring the salon and reopening as quickly and safely as possible.
