To rebuild a strong foundation so we can keep supporting our community and continue the charity work that matters so much

A Door Closed
Once, there was a warm and familiar place in Ayrshire — the Food Hub Café and Farm Shop.
When its doors closed, it felt like something precious had been lost.
Thankfully the story didn’t end there.

What Still Remains Behind those closed doors, something important was still alive.
The Crossroads Community Hub continues its work — supporting neighbours, families, and individuals across the community.
Food Saved, Futures Protected
Every week, surplus food is rescued instead of thrown away.
As a registered FareShare partner, the Hub has saved the equivalent of over 88,000 meals — turning waste into nourishment.

Learning, Confidence, IndependenceIn the Hub’s kitchen, cooking classes help people build confidence and independence — skills that last far longer than a single meal.
“I started cooking at home now. My sister calls me Gordon Ramsay! The lessons have really helped me.”- quote from Patchwork Foundation Charity
A Space to Belong
The Hub is more than food.
It is a space where local groups meet, where individuals are welcomed, and where no one has to feel alone.
“I love being able to come to the hub for help & support when needed” quoted by one young mum that uses our services.

Meals When They're Needed MostThe Hub is working towards restarting its emergency meals service — once providing 300 meals each week to those who needed them most.
“Brilliant resources to tap into as nothing like it in my area”- quote from EAC Housing
"You do a marvellous service getting food out into these isolated rural villages” – quote from Community Choir Volunteer.
The ChallengeKeeping the doors open takes more than passion alone.
Right now, Crossroads Community Hub needs your financial support to help us reopen the Café. Sadly, we had to close because our costs rose so sharply — including staffing, national insurance, and food supplies. It was a really hard decision, but the café and farm shop had been running at a loss for some time, and that was starting to affect the wider charitable work we do in the community. We know just how much the café meant to people too — it had become a special place to catch up with friends and family in a welcoming rural setting.
This time, we want to bring the Hub back to life with community events, weekly coffee and chat sessions, family days out, craft and food fairs, taster days, and cooking and craft workshops — and that’s only the start. To help make that happen, we’re also looking for volunteers who can lend a hand with teas, coffees, food, and activities while we work towards reopening the café in a similar way to before.
Our goal is simple: to rebuild a strong foundation so we can keep supporting our community and continue the charity work that matters so much.
Join us on this challenge and make it a success.
You Enter The StoryThere are many ways to help keep this story going.
A Community EffortAt the moment the charity has zero funds to do any of the above, so we need your support both financially and volunteering to assist us in the delivery of our plan. Our aim is to raise £20,000 with your support.
The Next Chapter
With your support, the Crossroads Community Hub and Ayrshire Food Hub can rise again and continue to serve those who need it most.
The next chapter begins with you.
“We wish you every best wish for a successful future and assure you of our enthusiastic support when you reopen."- quote from J & M Goodwin, customers
“Heartbroken as I’ve loved running my meditation classes for the past couple of years. Hoping you will come re-open bigger and better at some point.” -quote from class tutor, F Rodger
Thank you for your support.
