Vampires, werewolves and zombies... an audio series with EXTRA BITE!

"Cops and Monsters" is a supernatural police procedural drama series following the Paranormal Investigation Team Scotland (PITS!) as they police vampires, werewolves and zombies in a near future Scotland.

When the First Minister agrees to a peace treaty between the supernatural community looking to live amongst us in Scotland, they are placed into different zones in each city, and PITS are the first specialised police department created to keep both the human and supernatural community safe.

Created by Fraser Coull (Winner of "Best Screenplay" at the British Short Film Awards 2024) and produced/written by Emmy winner Roland Moore.

Creative Scotland have agreed to match pledges between £1 and £250 so your support will be DOUBLED when you make a pledge! Thank you to Creative Scotland for supporting our audio series.

We are raising funds to produce a brand new 6 part audio drama series set in the world of "Cops and Monsters" and we need your help.

Your support will allow us to achieve the following:

  • Hiring a recording studio for our actors to record the scripts
  • Hire the actors who we will cast in the main roles and guest starring roles throughout the series
  • Bring in audio technicians to smoothly and professionally record our episodes
  • Commission a sound designer to add foley and effects into the episodes
  • Hire a composer to score the series
  • Bring in a specialised audio drama producers B7 MEDIA to oversee the recordings
  • Hire a behind the scenes photographer and filmmaker to capture the behind the scenes of the recording sessions for PR and marketing purposes
  • Host the episodes on an audio drama platform and out into the world.

"Cops and Monsters" started life as a webseries produced from 2015 to 2018, with a total of 10 episodes being made. We eventually secured distribution on Amazon Prime and Plex in over 60 territories.

Guest stars included Sophie Aldred (Doctor Who), James Mackenzie (Raven), Leona Vaughan (Wolfblood), James Payton (Harry Potter), Katrina Bryan (Molly and Mack), Rachel Teate (Wolfblood) and Caitlin Blackwood (Doctor Who) to name just a few of our wonderful supporting cast.

We are now resurrecting the series as an audio drama alongside award winning production company B7 Media to tell a brand new story and bring "Cops and Monsters" to a brand new audience.

WHAT IS THE STORY?

In the sprawling urban landscape of Glasgow, Scotland, where zones segregate humans, vampires, werewolves, and zombies, the Paranormal Investigation Team Scotland (PITS) grapples with the delicate peace between these supernatural factions. Eve Mitchell, hiding a secret relationship with a werewolf, is forced to lead PITS as tensions rise within the team. Jack Stone, an ex-military member with a penchant for taking down "bad" supernaturals, clashes with Eve, while Alia Carmichael, the lone werewolf, faces prejudice within the team and the public as the first ever supernatural creature to be hired to the PITS, but yearns to prove her species' worth. Meanwhile, the tech-savvy Finn Campbell harbours a secret penchant for dangerous liaisons with underground werewolf fighting rings.

We are THRILLED that Doctor Who legend Sylvester McCoy has joined our audio series! Sylvester will be playing the role of Sir Malcolm Sinclair throughout the series.

Well known as the Seventh Doctor in DOCTOR WHO classic series, he was also delighted to be invited back into TALES OF THE TARDIS to celebrate the series’ 60th Anniversary, and THE POWER OF THE DOCTOR celebrating Jodie Whittaker’s finale. And let’s not forget the FIVE(ISH) DOCTORS REBOOT in celebration of the series’ 50th Anniversary. The character is also alive and thriving in his Big Finish audio recordings.

You may also have enjoyed him as Igor in Rob Zombie’s latest telling of THE MUNSTERS for Universal;  or as The Umbrella Man in HEARTSMITH; as The Old Man of Hoy in Lana Wachowski’s cult series SENSE 8, or Dr Huggins in Julius Berg’s psychological thriller THE OWNERS for which he won the Best Actor Award at Frightfest Film Festival 2021.

Oh, and he was in THE HOBBIT you know! Giving his ‘Radagast the Brown’ in Peter Jackson’s THE HOBBIT trilogy.

His TV work ranges from the infamous KEN CAMPBELL ROADSHOW to the Hermit of Hazelnut Cottage, a role written especially for him, in BBC TV’s ever popular FATHER BROWN.  As Archie in the ever loved STILL GAME or as Rab C Nesbitt’s lunatic brother, living in his wardrobe!

Playing the Fool to Sir Ian McKellen’s KING LEAR at the Royal Shakespeare Company took him from Stratford upon Avon onto World Tour; and he is proud Adrian Mitchell wrote the title role in his THE PIED PIPER for him at the Royal National Theatre.

He is currently filming his memoir,  WHO IS THE REAL McCOY, with Film Stories to be released later this year.

1777454545_helen_quigley_biog_2026.png

You can find out more about the wonderful work that B7 Media do on their website.

As we begin to secure our funding we will be able to hold casting sessions to cast our characters and our guest stars and we cannot wait to assemble our team.

We will of course post updates on our Crowdfunder, to our supporters and our social media accounts!

Some of the characters we'll be looking to cast are:

Eve Mitchell

1764261326_chatgpt_image_nov_27,_2025,_04_34_29_pm.png

Eve transferred to the Paranormal Investigation Team Scotland (PITS) at the request of her old boss, Detective Charles Sloan, after the First Minister of Scotland insisted that vampires, werewolves and zombies could live amongst humans albeit in their own personalised zones. Eve is tough, no nonsense and wants to present herself as a strong, confident leader, even if she's unsure of it herself.

Jack Stone

1764261995_chatgpt_image_nov_27,_2025,_04_42_18_pm.png

Ex-military, recovering alcoholic, he both struggles to fit into this new world of supernatural creatures but delights in the opportunity to take the bad ones down. He's got a crush on Eve, and the two often clash. Jack is very much a shoot first, ask questions later kind of guy.

Alia Carmichael

1764261452_chatgpt_image_nov_27,_2025,_04_37_12_pm.png

The only werewolf on the team. Alia knows she was only brought in to tick a diversity box, but as werewolves are seen as the lesser of the species, a bit more down on their luck, relying on manual labour to pay the bills, Alia sees this as a chance to show that werewolves have a place in society. She is sweet and sympathetic to other supernatural creatures and can help crack cases with her empathy, even if she's doubting her own abilities and fear of transforming into a full werewolf at the sight of a full moon, worrying she'll hurt her friends or setback the werewolf liberation's progress

Finn Campbell

1764261721_chatgpt_image_nov_27,_2025,_04_40_38_pm.png

The computer genius of the group. He's bookish and geeky, but he knows how to run the operation and comms for the team. He organises the missions, quickly deciding which weapons are best for taking down the right monster - vampire, werewolf or zombie. He secretly takes part in werewolf fighting rings, illegally, of course, hoping that his secret stays safe when a wolf joins his team.

Lady Audrey McDairmid

1780576607_mv5bmmjkyjg3odetmwvjms00mtm5ltlknwety2qzodlhmgm4yzi1xkeyxkfqcgc-_v1_.jpg

An immortal vampire queen who likes to pretend she's an old weak lady, but turn on her and she'll snap your neck and drink your blood before you even know what's going on. She is secretly researching the original zombie hive brain in the hope of creating a serum that will turn werewolves back into humans, leaving mortals exposed so in time she can corrupt them and rule humanity, making them their ultimate food source. Has she orchestrated the murder of the vampire, framing an innocent werewolf to stoke division between the humans and the supernaturals, in the hope of destabilising peace and causing mistrust between humans and werewolves?

BONUS "COPS AND MONSTERS" LORE

If you've got this far and you'd like to know more about "Cops and Monsters" and the world we're building, then have a look!

At present order is maintained by dividing each city in Scotland. Glasgow is split into 6 ‘zones’. Each zone is protected with an advanced force field that is triggered by movement on the perimeter.

1764262401_chatgpt_image_nov_27,_2025,_04_53_06_pm.png

Access can only be cleared with approved ID cards.

1764325491_chatgpt_image_nov_28,_2025,_10_23_24_am.png

0: Undomesticated zombies (category As and Bs) live free-range in this area.

1764262681_chatgpt_image_nov_27,_2025,_04_56_48_pm.png

1: Human areas such as the West End, Kelvinside, Maryhill which are closed to all supernatural creatures.

1764262938_chatgpt_image_nov_27,_2025,_05_02_05_pm.png

2: In zone-2 areas, all types of creature are allowed to mix together -- as long as they have ID certifying them to be non-dangerous. These are the centre of town, the river.

1764325010_chatgpt_image_nov_28,_2025,_10_16_01_am.png

3: Werewolf ghetto.

1764325234_chatgpt_image_nov_28,_2025,_10_20_18_am.png

4: Vampire ghetto.

1764325764_chatgpt_image_nov_28,_2025,_10_28_31_am.png

5: The Restricted Zone. Nobody knows what’s in there.

All citizens have ID cards which give them permission to access the appropriate zones. Supernaturals are assigned code numbers that begin with ‘A’ for extremely dangerous creatures ‘B’ for mildly dangerous creatures, and ‘C’ for non-dangerous creatures. Humans take the prefix ‘H’.

All humans have access to zones 1-4 but at their own risk.

Werewolves are free to enter Zones 2 and 3 but they are only permitted in zone 4 with clearance from the vampire community leaders.

Privileged or high ranking vampires are permitted to enter zones 1-4 but working class vampires and children are only permitted in zone 2.

Zombies are not permitted to leave their designated zones and do not have ID cards.

The Deputy First Minister, Jonathan Clark is cracking down on ID cards and permissions for each supernatural community, encouraging humans to avoid zones 3 and 4.

Counterfeit/tampered with ID cards are rumoured to be rife in zone 2, allowing temporal access to zones 1-4.
