Aim
This short film aims to show a true story of coming out, trans visibility and acceptance.
In a time of uncertainty and ever amounting attacks on trans and lgbtq+ individuals, The Shell is the story of Arla, the writer and director of the short and her story of coming out in an aide to help minimise the on going attack on the trans community.
With years of filmmaking experience under her belt (Lads, Hold Me Till The End, The Bleeding), she has not until now decided that her story, which is in no way a blanket story for the trans experience, should be told. With her experienced producing partner Heather M. Brown ( A True Mismatch, Hold Me Till The End, Street Samurai, Spicy Pink Tea) they hope to turn the tide on a world that is becoming increasingly dangerous for queer people.
What We Need & What You Get
- In order to make this film to a high standard, we are looking to raise $10000. These funds will be used to pay our cast and crew, reimburse the expenses of our collaborators, hire professional equipment, locations and costumes. We will also use a percentage to cover post production costs and film festival fees to ensure the film is screened to as wide an audience as possible. Should we not make our target, we believe we could deliver the film for £4000 if people agree to come on board as volunteers.
