Raising funds for improvements to the club ensuring that Saracens Amateur remains an inspiring and safe place for generations to come.
Saracens Amateur is at the heart of the local community, bringing together people of all ages and backgrounds through a shared passion for rugby. From young children pulling on a Saracens shirt for the very first time to lifelong members who have dedicated years to the club, Saracens Amateur has always been about far more than the game itself.
It is a place where young people learn confidence, resilience, teamwork, and respect. It is a place where adults continue to challenge themselves, stay active, make lifelong friendships, and give back as coaches, volunteers, and mentors. It is a place where families gather on weekends, where memories are made, and where community spirit thrives.
As we prepare to celebrate our 150th anniversary, we have set ourselves an ambitious but vital goal:
£150,000 for 150 years
This campaign is about honouring our past while investing in our future.
We are aiming to raise £150,000 to carry out essential repairs and improvements across the club, ensuring that Saracens Amateur including our Saracens Sonics (female squad) remains a welcoming, safe, and inspiring place for generations to come.
Like many community sports clubs, we face increasing maintenance and operational costs. Yet every week, hundreds of players, volunteers, coaches, parents, and supporters continue to make Saracens Amateur and the Sonics a special place. We want to ensure they have facilities and equipment that match the passion, commitment, and pride they bring to the club.
Rugby has the power to change lives. It builds character, creates opportunities, and brings people together. For 150 years, Saracens Amateur and the Sonics has been doing exactly that. With your support, we can continue that legacy and create even more opportunities for the next generation.
The funds raised will help us:
Carry out essential repairs to our clubhouse (£50,000)
Improve the pitches, grounds and pitch facilities (£50,000)
Enhance the clubhouse environment for players, members, families, and visitors (£30,000)
Purchase vital rugby equipment for every age group, from Minis and Juniors through to Senior teams (£20,000)
Saracens Amateur and the Sonics play a vital role in bringing people together through sport, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. At its heart, the club is more than just rugby - it is a community hub where friendships are formed, confidence is built, and lifelong values such as teamwork, respect and resilience are developed.
We provide opportunities for children and young people to stay active, learn new skills, and be part of a supportive team environment, helping to improve both physical and mental wellbeing. Grassroots sports clubs like ours are proven to strengthen communities, build a sense of belonging, and reduce social isolation, while supporting young people’s confidence and development.
A key part of our impact is widening access and creating new opportunities for underrepresented groups. We are proud to have recently launched Saracens Sonics, our girls’ rugby team, inspired by Sonia Green from Saracens Women. This initiative is helping to break down barriers to participation and introduce more girls to a sport that builds confidence, resilience and leadership skills, while creating a strong sense of belonging and friendship. Girls’ rugby is one of the fastest-growing areas of the game, providing inclusive spaces where players of all backgrounds can thrive and develop both on and off the pitch.
Beyond the pitch, Saracens Amateur and the Sonics are driven by volunteers who give their time to coach, organise events, and support local initiatives. We bring families and the wider community together through matches, social events and fundraising activities, strengthening local connections and fostering pride in the club.
