Help us to help all of us build community awareness and preparedness around the consequences of the climate and nature crises.
About Us
Our mission is to accelerate the transition to a regenerative future by engaging, informing and connecting people and projects responding to the crises in climate and nature. Run by a team of local volunteers for the past four years, the Centre is community-led, independent, and inspired by local action. Read about us here
Since January 2024, we have run 223 events with 2,775 attendances, the vast majority from the North London boroughs. Highlights include:
- 4 Peoples’ Assemblies, attended on average by 50 people, focusing on ‘Heat and Shade’, ‘Flooding’, 'Retrofit' and 'Food', which discussed and agreed concrete actions individuals can take to mitigate the local impact of these climate-related phenomena.
- Fixer Repair workshops - we partner with Restart Project and Islington Council to repair electrical items at free sessions in community centres and libraries, and in 2025 we helped 117 residents avoid waste and 1,646kg of CO2 emissions.
- Educational workshops - We have run 97 Climate Fresk, Biodiversity and 'Truth in 10' educational workshops for more than 950 people.
- In November 2025, we ran our inaugural Community Resilience Assembly, together with partners from UCL Students Union, London Resilience (GLA) and Network for Social Change. This was a two-day gathering of over 100 community change-makers and 20 UCL students, held at UCL East campus. See video here.

The aim was “show, not tell” — a peer-to-peer learning space showcasing what already works in communities, strengthening networks, and preparing for escalating climate, social, and geopolitical shocks.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We have been able to make a real impact in the North London community as a purely volunteer-led organisation since 2021. However, in order to reach an even greater number of people, we really need a part-time staff member to support our administration and fundraising activities to make the most of the volunteer goodwill. We are also currently looking for a permanent home, having spent 3 years in a rent-free property. We anticipate increased costs, which will inevitably drive up our event costs.
Everyone who donates will join our shoal - we will add a fish with your name to a special commemorative banner.
How we’ll spend the money raised
We would aim to use this funding to support multiple streams:
- hire a part-time team member to focus on fund-raising and admin for 9 months, after which we anticipate other funding and donations will allow us to continue funding and potentially grow even further.
- contribute to initial moving in costs, anticipated when we move into a new home in 2026
- enable us to start organising a follow-up event to the Community Resilience Assembly, mentioned above
How you can help
There are two simple ways to get involved and support our project:
1. Make a donation
Every pound you donate gets doubled and gets us closer to our goal. Early support can help build momentum and inspire others to give too.
2. Spread the word
Share our project with friends, family and your wider network. The more people we reach, the more likely we are to succeed.
