Raise funds to produce a high-quality short film covering cast, crew, equipment, location, and post-production.
About Me & The Team
My name is Owen Williamson, a writer and director from the West Midlands with a passion for storytelling and independent filmmaking. My journey into film has been shaped by years of studying cinema and developing my own scripts, with a focus on character-driven stories that mix tension, humour and memorable dialogue.
This project brings together a small but dedicated team of local filmmakers, actors and creatives who share the same goal: to create a high-quality short film that feels cinematic, professional and entertaining.
The Idea
Pen Pusher is a dark British crime comedy set entirely inside one office.
The story follows two gangsters who arrive to force a businessman to sign over his company. What begins as a typical intimidation job quickly spirals into something far more absurd, as the criminals become distracted by their own bizarre ideas and twisted logic.
Inspired by the dialogue-driven tension of films like Reservoir Dogs and the dark humour of British crime films like Snatch, the film blends suspense, comedy and character-driven storytelling.
The goal is to create a short film that is funny, uncomfortable and memorable — the kind of film that audiences enjoy but also sticks with them after it ends.
Our Vision
We want to produce a short film that proves strong storytelling and performances can make a powerful film even with a small budget.
The film will be shot with a cinematic style, balancing dark humour with tension. It begins with a stylised, energetic opening before settling into a more grounded, character-driven scene where the dialogue and performances take centre stage.
Our aim is to create a short film that can be submitted to film festivals and used to showcase the talent of everyone involved.
How The Funds Will Be Used
The money raised will go directly into making the film as professional as possible, including:
• Location hire (office space)
• Camera and lighting equipment
• Supporting the cast and crew
• Production design and props
• Catering and transport during filming
• Editing, sound design and colour grading in post-production
Every contribution helps us raise the quality of the film and bring this project to life.
Closing
Independent filmmaking relies on community support, and every contribution helps turn an idea into something real. Thank you for helping us make this film happen.
