Setting up a clothing and merchandise business with positive and fun designs to help and support mental health and disability awareness.
I am a 59 year-old full-time carer, but I’m also an artist and a social media creator. I have over 52,000 followers on TikTok (BIG OGGIE GOLF) as well as a decent following on YouTube, Instagram, and X.
I started my profiles as Big Oggie Golf. a mature fun Golfer with a genuine kind heart. However life has a habit of changing these things and thanks to the community I have built up. I have realised that by being honest, genuine, and open about my own mental health issues and my wife’s fibromyalgia health conditions I am starting to use social media for the benefit of others.
I have created The Big Oggie Creative Network so that I can use not only my own artistic skills but also the talents of other people to design clothing and merchandise which I hope, will give the wearer a more positive outlook on life. I want to show People that they are not alone and that other people care about them.
I am an ambassador for a men’s mental health charity And being a carer for my wife, I have decided that a small percentage of the profits from this business will also be donated to charity to help increase awareness for projects.
I have already recruited Tattoo artists and along with my own art we hope to create original and inspiring designs for all ages and all genders. It is time to realise that people can still be individuals in this world without being judged.
However, being a carer for some time has meant that I have very little financial support and therefore I’m setting this business up from scratch with nothing so am boot strapping it from the ground up.
People can follow the journey and progress of the business on my TikTok profile, Big Oggie Network and everything will be completely transparent. I may be the figure ahead and the brand as Big Oggie but I believe there’s a genuine community supporting us and if you would like to be part of that, I would welcome any help, advice and of course sponsorship and donations.
