Aim
We need immediate support to cover essential running costs so we can continue our work while securing long-term grants and our future.
We are a small not for profit organisation founded and run by Louise and Kate. For the last 5 years we have worked hard to establish ourselves as a trusted organisation supporting the mental wellbeing of young people and adults across Coventry and Warwickshire through our horse assisted therapeutic learning programmes. This includes neurodivergent individuals, the recovery community, young people unable to access mainstream education, veterans and people with a range of mental health issues living in hospital and the community.
We set HAPPY up because we wholeheartedly trust in the power of horses and how they can help humans become more self aware, more confident and more self accepting. For many of the people who come to us, life experiences, circumstances and health issues have shaped how they think and feel. Working with the horses’ natural behaviours and how they perceive us in real time, provides an opportunity to reflect and challenge thoughts and behavioral patterns, both positive and negative. Many of our participants also tell us that conventional talking therapies are not the right fit for them or have long waiting lists, meaning help is not always there when it is most needed. We pride ourselves on low/ no waiting lists and will never leave someone without support. We know we make a difference, we hear it from the horse's mouth (so to speak!) and we truly care about every individual that comes to us.
Sadly we are now facing the very real possibility of having to close our doors due to unexpected funding shortages. We've set up this funder to hopefully raise enough to cover core running costs and maintain service delivery while we secure new funding and explore more sustainable options to maintain the service long term.
