Road to the National Brass Band Finals

Help our brass band reach the National Finals by funding travel, transport and competition costs. Every donation counts!

We are fundraising to help our band travel to the National Brass Band Finals.

We are a proud brass band from Darwen, with a rich history dating back to 1840. For over 180 years, our band has been at the heart of the local community, bringing people together through music. Today, our members continue that tradition, united by a shared passion for making music, performing, and keeping this important part of our heritage alive for future generations.

Through months of rehearsals, dedication, and teamwork, we have achieved something special – qualification for the National Brass Band Finals in York in September. It is a moment of pride not only for the band, but for our supporters, our community, and the town we proudly represent.

Competing at this level is an incredible opportunity, but it also comes with significant costs. We are raising funds to help cover travel, accommodation, the transport of instruments, and other essential expenses, ensuring that every member of the band can take their place on the national stage.

Thanks to the incredible commitment of our members, we've already raised £3,000 through extra concerts, performances and fundraising events. As a voluntary brass band, every penny has been earned through the dedication of our musicians giving up even more of their time to support this journey.

We now need to raise the final £2,000 to cover the remaining costs of representing Blackburn with Darwen at the National Brass Band Finals, including travel, accommodation, entry fees and rehearsal expenses.
