Aim

Supporting people to feel less alone by creating calm, inclusive spaces that improve wellbeing and build real connection.

🌿 About us, our vision, and how funding will help

Dreamscape Community Connections C.I.C. was created from both lived and professional experience.

I’m Marybeth, the founder, and I know what it feels like to not fit into the world around you. To feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or like everywhere you go expects more than you can give.

After struggling in environments that didn’t understand my needs, and trying to navigate spaces that felt too loud, too fast, or too much… I realised something was missing.

But alongside that, I’ve also worked closely with others facing the same challenges. I’ve seen how many people are left without the right support, or expected to fit into spaces that simply don’t work for them.

There wasn’t a place where people could just be.

So I created Dreamscape 🤍

🌿 Our idea

Dreamscape is a calm, low-pressure community designed for people who feel overwhelmed, isolated, or excluded from traditional environments.

We create spaces where there are no expectations.

No pressure to talk.

No need to mask.

Just a safe, understanding environment where people can show up exactly as they are.

We currently run:

✨ Low-pressure social sessions

✨ Quiet coffee mornings

✨ Creative activities

✨ Calm & Connect walks

✨ Community support through our pantry pathway

✨ Small, supportive getaways

Everything we do is built around choice, comfort, and safety.

🌿 Our team

Dreamscape is led by myself as Founder and Community Lead, supported by a growing team of people who bring both lived understanding and experience in supporting individuals facing similar challenges.

Our approach is grounded in empathy, consistency, and creating environments that feel safe rather than overwhelming.

As we grow, we are building a wider team of facilitators, volunteers, and community partners to help expand our reach and ensure ongoing, sustainable support.

🌿 Our vision

Our vision is to create a consistent, accessible community space in Heanor, Derbyshire, where people can come without pressure, referral, or expectation.

A space where:

🤍 People can drop in and feel safe

🤍 Connection happens naturally, not forced

🤍 Individuals can build confidence at their own pace

🤍 Support is available in a calm and understanding way

Long-term, we aim to expand Dreamscape into other communities, creating inclusive spaces wherever there is a need.

🌿 How we will use the funding

The funding we raise will allow us to take the next step in making Dreamscape stable, accessible, and sustainable.

This includes:

🌿 Securing a deposit for our own dedicated community space

🌿 Covering ongoing rent for a permanent base

🌿 Funding room hire and session hire costs while we establish

🌿 Providing materials for creative sessions and activities

🌿 Supporting the development of our community pantry pathway

🌿 Helping us keep sessions affordable and accessible

🌿 Covering essential costs such as insurance, training, and safeguarding

Right now, we are running sessions across different locations.

This funding will allow us to move into a consistent, safe space that people can rely on, while also continuing to run sessions in the community.

🌿 Why this matters

Dreamscape isn’t just a project.

It’s a response to a real gap in support.

Too many people are left out — not because they don’t want connection, but because the spaces available don’t feel safe, accessible, or right for them.

We are creating something different.

Something calmer.

Something more human.

Something that meets people where they are.

🤍 Final note

This is just the beginning.

With the right support, Dreamscape has the potential to become a long-term, life-changing space for people who have never quite felt they belong.

And together, we can make that happen
