The derelict toilet block in our Forres carpark needs transformation - the first step in creating the new Rest Rooms is to RAISE THE ROOF!
The public toilets in Forres have been closed for years, and the impact has been felt by everyone from families with young children to older residents and people with disabilities who simply have nowhere suitable to go. We want to restore dignity and comfort for all.
Ray’s Opportunities is planning to reinvent and reopen the old toilet block, creating a modern, inclusive RestRoom with a Changing Places Toilet – the first in the area – thanks to specific funding from the Scottish Government. And to keep it sustainable, we’re adding a small streetfood unit whose income will help fund the running costs of the whole unit.
But before anything else, we need to Raise the Roof. The current structure is too low to accommodate the ceiling height required for the Changing Places hoist system. Lifting and rebuilding the roof will cost £60,000, and this crowdfunder is a vital part of the wider funding package that will make the whole project possible. We’ll have more to raise after that, but we have to start somewhere.
Let’s reopen Forres’ Public Toilets together! Your support will help raise the roof and transform the longshuttered building into a sustainable, accessible RestRoom for everyone.
Everyone deserves dignity — families, visitors, wheelchair users, and people with complex needs. By helping us raise the roof, you’ll make it possible to reopen Forres’ longclosed public toilets and create the first Changing Places facility for miles. Your support truly matters.
